Unfortunately, the global pandemic has put the project aside. It only started recently, now some countries are reopening.

The head of Triumph brand management, Miles Perkins, confirmed in an interview that the project is currently in the works and a prototype of a small displacement motorcycle bearing the Triumph badge has been created. Perkins said these are going to be great weapons, he has seen the bikes in development and prototypes for them, things are moving in the right direction. He and his team have yet to confirm exactly what the bikes are and when exactly they will be rolling them out, but [the news] will be there soon.

It’s no secret that Bajaj manufactures KTM entry-level motorcycles and these motorcycles share the same engines and most of their components with some of the Bajaj branded motorcycles. In the Philippines, many Bajaj bikes are renamed Kawasaki motorcycles.

They share similar leadership principles and values. The working relationship is strong, the design development is entirely Triumph, they are Triumph and the partnership builds them and sells them around the world. What Bajaj delivers is phenomenal in terms of quality development in this volume, especially at the lower capacity range, Perkins added.

While these small-capacity Triumph motorcycles will likely be aimed at the Asian market, the Hinckley-based manufacturer says the partnership will also export them to the rest of the world.

If there is one good thing about the pandemic, it is the fact that many people have started riding motorbikes again, while many others have started riding motorbikes. Almost all motorcycle manufacturers publish record sales figures and new motorcycle models are being developed.
